Jim Garrett is a retired high school English teacher and marathoner from Florida. He is a U. S.
Marine veteran and a former news reporter and photographer. Jim, a resident of Williamsburg, is a
member of the Poetry Society of Virginia and the James City Poets. His book “Walls: Poems Old
and New” is a collection of poems that suggest the different ways we have of isolating ourselves from ourselves or from others.
