G.A. Turner Jr. is a Virginia native who writes gritty detective noir, Southern-Gothic Horror, and high-stakes crime thrillers drawn from more than two decades of real-world law enforcement experience. A former U.S. Army Military Police officer and police lieutenant, Turner spent nearly 30 years working in criminal investigations, patrol, and specialized units, and also served as a law enforcement instructor with the Department of Defense.
Throughout his career, he handled everything from complex investigations and missing persons cases to fraud, surveillance, and high-level security operations, bringing him face-to-face with the realities of crime, justice, and human nature. His work alongside elite units and federal agencies, including assignments involving the protection of heads of state, gives his writing an unmistakable authenticity.
Now an active private investigator, Turner continues to work real cases, applying his expertise to uncover the truth in situations where the stakes are personal, and the answers aren’t always easy. He channels this ongoing, firsthand experience into fiction that is as raw as it is compelling.
His stories blend sharp investigative detail with dark, atmospheric storytelling, pulling readers deep into the shadowy world of crime, where every choice has consequences, and nothing is ever as simple as it seems.
